You don’t need to buy “special” foods – don’t get suckered in to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and spend your entire paycheck and think healthy food means expensive food – it doesn’t have to be that way!

One of the key factors to keep in mind when you are trying to lose weight and to stay in shape is that “you are what you eat”. This is a factor that is all too often overlooked and set aside for other more “important” secrets of the trade. While there are people who are conscious of what they are putting into their bodies, there are others who do not pay that much attention to just what exactly they are consuming. That is mistake number one! Mistake number two is buying into the mentality that you have to spend more money to eat more healthy; this is just simply NOT the case! It all comes down to paying attention to what you are eating and what is contained in the items you are selecting. You do not need to (or have to) buy “special foods” that are “specifically created” to help you lose weight. If you do not want to break the bank and still eat healthy to lose weight and to stay physically fit, you just simply need to be aware of the foods you are choosing.

Perhaps the most valuable piece of information you can obtain when it comes to losing weight and keeping your body healthy is “don’t get suckered”. This would apply to everything you encounter on your health and fitness regimen. But this especially applies to your healthy eating habits! You do not have to spend a lot of your hard-earned money to eat properly. No matter where your fitness and health regimen takes you, you will always run into the same schemes that claim they can help you reach your goals faster; “Lose 30lbs in a week”, “order 6 months worth of food, lose weight faster” and “taking this pill reduces hunger urges”. There are many gimmicks that are out on the market that prey upon people’s weaknesses. What is the most common weakness? Playing on the fact that you want results a lot sooner than you want. You need to be wary, sometimes the easy way out is not the proper way out. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but that does not mean you have to spend most of your take-home pay on a gimmick. Everything you need to lose weight and to stay healthy and fit is within you!

Healthy does not mean expensive. Have you ever heard of the saying, “you get what you pay for”? Well, this is one of the circumstances where this saying does NOT apply! For someone who might live by that rule there are most certainly times where it does not need to be applied. The food choices you make, for instance, is one of the more definite choices where the amount of money you spend is not the deciding factor in your success or failure. The deciding factor in your success or failure is you! Everything comes down to you! It is the decisions you make day in and day out that decides just what your outcome will be. Although it might seem easier and faster to lose weight if you simply purchase a food plan where the food is shipped to you, it actually has the reverse effect all while watching your money flutter out the window. These foods are preserved and are meant to be frozen until you are prepared to cook them (well, heat them up). You need to be aware of the fact that the preservatives that are contained in these items of food are meant to help these foods last longer. When was the last time you went to the grocery store and picked up a bushel of bananas and they lasted for a month? The same rule applies to the frozen foods you are eating! The more preservatives and ingredients an item of food contains, the less healthy it is for your body.

Another one of the essential factors that will help you lose weight faster and keep you on track with your health and fitness regimen comes down to your degree of attention. If you are paying attention to what you are eating and the items of food you are purchasing, the more well off you will be! If you think that just by walking down the aisle at a grocery store and picking up an item that says “the healthy choice” or just has the word “healthy” on the box and/or can means you are eating healthy, you have a long road ahead of you. The most important thing you can do for yourself and for your healthy diet is to read the labels that are on the items you are considering for purchase. Pay attention to what the ingredients are. Pay attention to what is included in this item. But more importantly, pay attention to the expiration date!

The deciding factor in your success in your weight loss and your health and fitness regimen is your perseverance and drive; not the amount of money you spend. If you think that by the more money you spend on an item in your quest you are drastically setting yourself behind schedule. It is your motivation and your will power that will make the journey a success! If you pay attention to the labels of the foods you are buying you will find that you do not need to consult an outside source to send you the foods that will help you lose weight the fastest. On your journey to losing weight and staying within your health and fitness regimen you will become frustrated by how long it is taking you. But it is a guarantee that if you put in the time and the work your end results will be more than satisfactory!
