We’ve all watched little kids and wondered how they can possibly eat the way that they do. After all, most kids act like “grazers” and will eat little bits of food throughout the day. Well, get ready to be surprised because medical and food scientists have determined that this style of eating is one of the best ways to keep your metabolism really cranking.

Perhaps you already know that eating five smaller meals each day (as opposed to three hefty ones) is going to be much healthier. This is because it keeps the body with a steady and even supply of energy that prevents the proverbial “spikes and valleys” in terms of blood sugar and energy levels.

What is so interesting about this “child like” eating plan is that it also boosts the metabolism too. This means that you get more energy AND you use it much more efficiently. It also means that you are likely to be able to eat more often and to avoid gaining weight unnecessarily.

Why would this matter? Well, let’s just consider the day of the average person involved in fitness modeling. They will rise (hopefully after at least six hours of high quality sleep) and consume some sort of morning meal. They might then do a workout of some kind before heading to work. If they are following a good eating plan, they are going to be hungry by the time they hit the office or the workplace, and this means meal number two should be lined up. By the midday hour this person is going to want more calories and energy and will eat their third meal. Within two to three hours they should be ready for an additional dose of calories, and then they will want a final “meal” around seven or eight that evening.

Can you see that this person is steadily supplying themselves with energy in small doses throughout the day and rapidly converting and using this energy? They are going to enjoy much better workouts because they will not be dealing with a carbohydrate overload and a digestive tract that is too full for comfort. They will get far better results from the four or more small meals each day and this is going to begin showing up right away on their workout results.

Following this sort of plan also makes it easier to shift the diet and control the amount of calories taken in too.
