Female Bodybuilder - Jennifer Long
Jen has been working out and weight training seriously for the past 5 years. Although she had a healthy diet and lifted to build muscle it wasn't until she was asked her to compete in Musclemania that she made a decision to compete in a bodybuilding show.
At 31 years old, Jen was born in Bridgeport and later moved to Milford, Connecticut and had been a member of Creative Health and Fitness where she had met bodybuilders Ralph Remy and Donna Schultz. She watched people train hard and knew little about them competing and never attended a bodybuilding show until the day she competed. She now works out at Ultimate Fitness in New Haven where her fiancé Bill Salley is the manager.
Jen's diet was easy to adjust since she eats a lot of chicken, rice, and salads on a regular basis the only thing she had to cut out and missed was cream in her coffee and an occasional bran muffin. A few weeks into her competition diet she met Diane Gramelis a former female bodybuilder at a dinner in Milford. Diane is a nutritionist at Milford Hospital and teaches Health at Southern Connecticut State University. Diane met with Jen once a week to help her with her posing and routine.
Jen placed first in the women's novice division and fourth in the women's open division she had fun and looks forward to trying another competition maybe next year.
